Reading, Pa.- Albright men's tennis team suffered a tough loss Tuesday afternoon when visiting Penn State Abington edged the Lions with a score of 5-4.
The Lions (1-3) started the day off strong with the No. 1 duo of seniors
Matthew Muoio and
Ken Richardson easily defeating the Nittany Lions (1-0) with a score of 8-1. Albright would drop the final two doubles bouts to trail 2-1 before singles action begun.
Albright fought back to take a 4-2 lead after the Lions' top three seeds notched victories. Muoio cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the first singles match of the day. Junior
Evan Cuff followed that performance by defeating his opponent 6-2, 6-0 while Richardson went on to win 6-2, 6-2 in the second and third matches, respectively. The Lions ended the day with three singles losses to the Nittany Lions.
Albright returns to action on Saturday, October 1, when the Lions host DeSales University at 11 a.m.
