York, Pa.- The second day of the York College Spartan Invitational mimicked day one for the Albright women volleyball team as the Lions were swept in both of their Saturday matches. The Albright volleyball squad finished the Invitational 0-4.
Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus defeated the Lions 25-18, 25-16, 25-20 in the team's first match of the day. Outside hitter
Morgan Puller tallied a team-high seven kills, while outside hitter
Maddy Greth and middle blocker
Shaniyah Taylor finished with six and four kills, respectively. The number 23 appeared twice atop of the Albright leaderboard as setter
Claudia Guise finished with 23 assists and libero
Becca Davis recorded 23 digs.
The Lions faced tournament host York College of Pennsylvania in the team's final match of the York College Spartan Invitational. The Spartans won 25-17 and 25-21. The third and final set was the closest set of the day for the Lions as they fell 26-24. Greth finished the match with six kills, five aces, and 14 digs. Guise continued to lead at the net as the junior recorded 20 plus assists for the second straight match with 24.
Albright continues its season Tuesday, Sept. 27, when the Lions face off with Lebanon Valley College. First serve for the road match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
