McDaniel's Strong Second Half Too Much for Lions

WESTMINSTER, Md – The Albright men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at McDaniel Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.  The loss puts Albright at 1-3 on the season, while McDaniel improves to 2-1.

McDaniel wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Raul Escobar scored for the Green Terror just 2:17 into the contest.  Albright answered almost immediately, as senior Josh Linsmeier found the back of the net 37 seconds later to even the score at 1-1. The goal was the second on the season for Linsmeier and his second in as many games.
The Green Terror regained the lead in the 12th minute, when Carlos Valdes scored from long range to put McDaniel up 2-1.

McDaniel pushed its advantage to 3-1 early in the second half, as Kerry Shutt scored on a header off a corner kick for the Green Terror in the 55th minute.  The lead ballooned to 4-1 in the 63rd minute, when Valdez connected again for McDaniel.  Albright had a few scoring chances the rest of the way but was unable to cut into the McDaniel lead as the Green Terror collected their second win of the season.

Sophomore Adam Giurlando started in goal for Albright and made one save in the first half.  Freshman Billy Mullen took over in the 49th minute and had two saves for the Lions.
Albright returns to action on Saturday night, when Delaware Valley comes to Shirk Stadium for a non-conference match.  Game time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
