COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Albright men's and women's swimming teams competed at Ursinus on Saturday afternoon. The men lost, 130-73, while the women fell, 131-72.
The men received first place finishes from
Ken Richardson in the 200-yard IM in 2:00.70 and from
Tyler Chamberlin in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.91. Chamberlin was part of a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay along with
Sean Riddle,
Anthony Spanier and
Jay Deschamps. Richardson was part of the third place team in that same race. He joined
Conor Hassard,
Maliq Williams and
Hunter Page.
Deschamps finished second in the 50 freestyle in 22.63. Riddle was second in the 100 butterfly (53.68) while Williams finished just behind in 53.74.
Brendan Mackey-Wood was second in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing in 17:77.77. William Griffith was third in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03.55.
On the women's side,
Alexis Willis had a pair of victories. She won the 50 freestyle in 25.42 and the 100 freestyle in 56.37. She was also part of a third place finish in the 200 medley relay, joining
Julia Wadding,
Carly Jablonski and
Dayne Martin. Wadding was also second in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:02.24.
Ashlyn Chermol had a victory in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 2:01.50. She was also third in the 100 butterfly in 59.71.
Hannah Schrock was third in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 57.80.
Madeline Hudson had a pair of third place finishes. She finished the 200 IM in 2:25.95 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:39.30.
The teams compete again against Messiah and Misericordia on Jan. 28.
