FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Albright baseball team swept its competition on Tuesday at the Lawnwood Complex as the Lions rallied to beat Kenyon 6-5 in the opener and defeated Eastern Nazarene 8-2 in the nighttime game.

GAME ONE
The bottom of the fifth inning was the pivotal point of the game for the Lions as they captured the lead. Prior to that, Mikey Arman handed the Lords an early 2-0 lead after a RBI groundout in the first and RBI single in the third.

Noah Beebe put the Lions on board in the fourth after reaching base via walk. Tanner Brescancine also walked before Zach Krause came up to the plate and reached first thanks to an error by starting pitcher Brad Clegg.

Kenyon added extended its lead to 3-1 in the top of the fifth after Arman drove in his third run of the game.

The Lions struck in the bottom half of the frame scoring three runs to take a 4-2 lead. Jimmie Gentry started Albright's offensive surge reaching base on an infield single.

After Gentry advanced to second on a passed ball, Jeff Yordy walked. Beebe singled to center to load the bases for the Lions. Kenyon called in relief pitcher Eric DelRosso, who struck out the next batter for the second out of the inning. A wild pitch from DelRosse scored Gentry as well as advanced the runners. Krause hit a single through the right sight to drive in both runners to give Albright its first lead of the day.

After back-to-back singles from Gentry and Yordy in the seventh, Brescancine singled up the middle to bring home both base runners to extend the lead to 6-3.
Kenyon attempted to rally back in the final frame scoring two runs, but the Lions withheld the Lords strike for a victory.

Eastern Nazarene struck first after Nick Story drove in Josue Basilis with a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

The Lions did not let Eastern Nazarene's lead last long as they knotted the score at 1-1 in the top of the second. After reaching base via a walk, Will Tokarski advanced to third on a single from Jesse Fikslin. Tokarski rushed home from third after a throwing error on a failed pick-off attempt at first base.

Two batters later, Tanner Brescancine drove Gentry home on a triple to center field. Brandon Daubert followed with a single to left to plate Brescancine.
