Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Ursinus, 17-10

READING, Pa. – Six different players scored goals for Albright, but the Lions fell short as they fell to Ursinus 17-10 at Shirk Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions could not keep pace with Ursinus early as the Bears opened the game scoring six unanswered goals.

Cam Cetrone broke the shutout putting the first points on the board for Albright with 12:39 left in the second period. Cetrone added another goal a minute later to put Albright within four.

Ursinus added two more goals to make it 8-2 before the Lions rattled off four goals to pull within two. During this streak, Jack Bobel scored twice for the Lions, while Andrew Potter and Nick Tonno each netted one goal. The Lions trailed 8-6 going into halftime.

The Bears continued to put pressure on the Lions after opening the second half with two goals. Potter quickly aided the Lions in their comeback scoring the first goal of the half to make it 10-7.

Ursinus added two more goals to extend their lead to 12-7 in the third period. With the final seconds dwindling, Derek Stump scored his lone goal of the day with 32 seconds left in the period to score the Lions eighth goal of the day.

Jordan Zehr put up the final two goals for Albright in the fourth period.

Cetrone, Bobel, Zehr and Potter each netted two goals on the afternoon. Tonno added a goal while Stump had a goal and two assists. Ryan Aler made 14 saves on the afternoon.

Albright had 36 shots with 21 of them on goal, while also forcing nine turnovers. The Lions scooped up 22 groundballs and won 11 face-offs on the afternoon.

Albright wraps up its home stand Wednesday evening when Elizabethtown visits. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
