READING, Pa.- Cam Cetrone and Andrew Potter lead the offensive charge, but it wasn't enough as Albright fell to Elizabethtown 13-9 on Wednesday night at Shirk Stadium.
Elizabethtown put the first points of the game on the board with 8:40 left in the first period. Albright answered quickly with three goals of its own in a span of five minutes coming from Jordan Zehr and Cetrone to put the Lions up 3-1.
Elizabethtown scored two more goals to tie it, but three minutes later Potter scored his first goal of the game to help Albright regain a 4-3 lead.
The Blue Jays scored two goals in the final seven minutes of the second period to take a 5-4 lead into the half.
After a quick goal by Elizabethtown to start the second half, Potter and Cetrone scored back-to-back goals within 30 seconds of each other to tie the game at six.
After the teams traded goals again, Elizabethtown scored four goals in a row to pull away in the fourth period. Derek Stump added a goal and Potter added another with 1:42 remaining in the game.
Cetrone and Potter each netted three goals on the night. Zehr added two goals, while Stump scored one. Ryan Aler made 18 saves for the Lions.
Albright was outshot by Elizabethtown on the night 41-38. 18 of those shots were on goal for Albright. The Lions forced 12 turnovers, and won the face off battle winning 16 out of 25. Albright scooped up 43 groundballs.
The Lions return to action on Saturday when they travel to Westminster, Maryland, to take on McDaniel College. Face off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
