READING, Pa. – Stevenson scored two runs in the top of the first inning and added two more in the third inning as it defeated the Albright baseball team, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at Kelchner Field. Logan Adams went 2-for-3 in the defeat.

A two-run double in the first gave Stevenson the lead, and it extended the lead with a pair of run-scoring outs in the top of the third. Adams led off the bottom of the third inning with one of his base hits, but he was erased on a double play.

With Albright trailing, 5-0, in the bottom of the sixth, Adams led off with his second single. Another double play took away the Lions' scoring chance. Tanner Brescancine singled to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning, but the third double play for the Stevenson defense helped to keep the Lions scoreless.

Jimmie Gentry had the fourth hit for the Lions. Mat Costa and Michael Falconetti combined to allow just one earned run in three innings of work out of the bullpen.

The teams meet again tomorrow for a doubleheader at Stevenson at 1 p.m.
