READING, Pa.- Jordan Zehr shook a defender and put the ball in the back of the net to lift men's lacrosse past Hood in overtime, 9-8, at Shirk Stadium.
Albright started the game off hot when
Cam Cetrone scored the first goal of the game on a dish from
Derek Stump. Stump added a goal of his own just two minutes later on a feed from
Nick Tonno to put the Lions up 2-0.
The Blazers answered back, scoring two goals in a row before
Andrew Potter scored his first goal of the game to put Albright up 3-2. Hood scored two more goals to take a 4-3 lead into the half.
Hood scored another goal just a minute into the second half. After a span of nine scoreless minutes, Potter answered for Albright scoring back-to-back goals in a span of four minutes to tie the game up at 5-5.
The two teams traded two goals each again before Hood scored with 7:34 left in the game to take the lead, 8-7
After a series of exciting plays, Potter came up clutch again for Albright when he scored on a feed from Cetrone with six seconds left to send the game to overtime.
In overtime, it only took Zehr 40 seconds to send the Lions home with a big overtime win over Hood.
Potter had five goals on the night. Stump had two goals while Cetrone and Zehr each scored one goal.
Stump recorded three assists while Tonno recorded two. Cetrone had one assist on the game winning goal.
Ryan Aler made nine saves on the night.
The Lions return to the field on Tuesday when they travel to Baltimore, Maryland to take on Stevenson. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
