GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Albright Lions men's soccer team (3-7-1, 1-2 MACC) trailed by just a goal early in the second half, but eventually fell to #1 Messiah (10-0-2, 3-0 MACC) by a score of 4-0 on Saturday night at Shoemaker Field.
The Falcons struck just 5:23 into the game to take an early 1-0 lead as David Alejos sent a cross into the box and found Lucas Kokolios for the goal. Seconds prior to the goal, senior
Anthony Parlato had sent a shot just wide for the Lions. Messiah held a 15-3 shot advantage in the opening stanza.
It was a 1-0 game until the 54
th minute when Nick West played a through ball from Justin Brautigam and found the back of the net for his nation-leading 19
th goal of the season. Luke Groothoff made it a 3-0 game less than 90 seconds later and the Falcons would add their fourth goal in the 66
th minute.
Messiah finished with a 36-7 advantage in shots and a 13-2 edge in shots on target. Parlato paced the Lions with four shots, while West and Groothoff had five apiece for the Falcons.

The Lions return home to host Arcadia in MAC Commonwealth action on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Shirk Stadium at 7 p.m.
