READING, Pa. – Sophomore
Bryce Schaffer captured three races and classmate Harry Hunsberger won a pair as the Albright Lions men's swimming team took home a 150.5-111.5 victory over the Arcadia Knights on Saturday afternoon at the Albright Natatorium.
The Albright women's team dropped a 168-94 decision to the Knights.
Schaffer took home victories in the 100 butterfly (53.05), 200 fly (1:56.21) and the 200 back (2:02.65), while Hunsberger finished in a dead heat for first place in the 50 freestyle with Arcadia's Tristan Highet in a time of 22.47 and won the 100 freestyle as he touched the wall in a time of 49.58.
Freshman
Joseph Guiliano won the 100 back for the Lions in a time of 56.04. Albright also captured a pair of relay victories on the day as the quartet of Guiliano, senior
Tyler Chamberlin, Schaffer and Hunsberger cruised home in a time of 1:39.00 to take the 200 medley relay and Guiliano, Hunsberger, sophomore
Chris Laite and junior
Maliq Williams won the 400 free relay in a time of 3:17.68.
Senior
Brendan Mackey-Wood took second place in both the 500 (5:06.28) and 1,000 freestyle (10:35.33), while Laite took second in the 200 free (1:50.47), Chamberlin finished second in the 100 breast (1:01.52) and Williams placed second in the 100 fly (54.96).
On the women's side of things, freshman
Alaina Ricci captured a pair of victories in the 200 fly (2:18.41) and the 200 back (2:16.57). Ricci also recorded a second place finish in the 200 IM (2:22.81) and classmate
Allyson Kraff took second in the 500 free (5:45.15) and the 1,000 free (11:22.30). Freshman
Bianca Wargo finished second in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.03 and the 200 back with a time of 2:23.97.
The Lions return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 10 when Cabrini comes to the Albright Natatorium for a dual meet at 1 p.m.
