READING, Pa. – The Albright Lions women's basketball team (6-8) held off a late Ursinus rally in a 48-46 victory over the Bears (6-4) on Sunday night at the Bollman Center in Reading.
Freshman
Abby Gaffney hit a layup with 2:53 left to give Albright a 47-40 lead before Ursinus' Toni Suler hit a layup on the other end to start a 6-1 spurt for the Bears over the remainder of the game. In the final seconds, the Bears' Marisa Morano got to the basket but her layup was off the mark and the Lions were able to escape with a victory.
Albright has now held their opponents under 50 points in consecutive games.
Junior guard
Lauren Killion had 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting (3-of-3 3PT) to pace the Lions, while freshman

Gabby Boggs added five points and nine rebounds.
Lydia Konstanzer and Aliyah Stephens led Ursinus with 12 points apiece and Maya Kornfeld contributed 10 points.
The game was close throughout with neither team leading by more than seven.
A three-pointer from Terrell gave the Lions an 11-7 lead with 2:37 left in the first quarter before the Bears answered with a 5-0 run capped by a layup from Suler to take a 12-11 lead at the end of one. Consecutive threes from Killion gave Albright a 25-19 lead with 1:32 left in the half and the Lions took a 25-23 lead into the locker room.
Killion's third triple of the night gave the Lions a 28-25 lead with 7:53 left in the third quarter, but a 10-5 spurt by Ursinus over the remainder of the quarter capped by a Maddy Sorokanych layup gave the visitors a 35-33 lead. Stephens' layup made it a four-point game to open the scoring in the fourth quarter, but
Hailey Dayton drove to the basket for a layup on the other end to kickstart a 14-3 run for the Lions over the next five plus minutes that was capped by the afore-mentioned bucket from Gaffney.
Albright shot 18-of-50 (36%) from the floor and 4-of-11 (36.4%) from deep, while Ursinus was 20-of-62 (32.3%) and 0-of-7 from beyond the arc.
