GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Albright Lions men's swimming team picked up two wins at a tri-meet hosted by Messiah on Saturday afternoon. Albright defeated the host Falcons 142-120 and Misericordia by a score of 170-83.
 
The Lions posted five individual wins on the afternoon, while posting consistent finishes all around in the pool to grab the pair of wins. Junior Brendan Mackey-Wood posted a first place in the 1000 yard freestyle, sophomore Will Griffith tallied a win in the 200 yard freestyle, freshman Harrison Hunsberger registered a first place in the 100 yard freestyle, sophomore Teag Culver grabbed a win in the 500 yard freestyle, and freshman Bryce Schaffer rounded out the winners with a first place in the 100 yard butterfly.
 
Mackey-Wood posted the sixth best time in the MAC this season in the 1000 freestyle with a mark of 10:18.11, while also tallying a fourth place finish in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:06.48. Griffith earned his first place in the 200 free with a time of 1:49.38, and finished second behind Culver in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:00.22. Hunsberger posted a time of 49.40 to win the 100 free after placing second behind Mackey-Wood in the 1000 free with a time of 10:29.03. Culver earned his win in the 500 free with a time of 4:53.67, which is good for seventh fastest in the MAC this season, and finished 3^rd in the 200 free with a time of 1:49.73. Schaffer posted the third best time in the MAC this season in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.40, and now owns two of the three top times in the conference for the event. He also posted a second in the 100 backstroke and a third in the 200 backstroke.
 
The Lions also had two relay teams post a pair of 2^nd place finishes as the 400 yard medley relay team of Schaffer, Hunsberger, Sophomore Maliq Williams, and freshman Corey Hausler posted a time of 3:40.03, and the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Hunsberger, Williams, Culver, and Griffith posted a time of 1:29.51.
 
Albright will return to the pool in two weeks as they will look to defend their conference title in the MAC Championships at York, Pa. from Thursday February 15^th to Sunday February 18^th.
