ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Sophomores
Harrison Hunsberger and
Bryce Schaffer each won two races apiece as the Albright Lions men's swim team remained unbeaten in dual meet action with a 117-82 victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday morning.
Hunsberger captured the 100 freestyle in a time of 50.53 and took home the 200 freestyle in 1:50.38, while Schaffer won the 200 IM as he touched the wall in a time of 2:02.66 and won the 100 fly with a time of 52.57.
Other winners for the Lions included junior
Nicholas Cancino in the 1,000 freestyle (10:45.83), freshman
Joseph Guiliano in the 100 backstroke (55.69) and junior
Teag Culver in the 500 freestyle (5:00.69). The quartet of Guiliano, senior
Tyler Chamberlin, Schaffer and junior
Hunter Page captured the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:40.16.
The Lions swept the top three spots in the 1,000 free as juniors
Dan McCarter (2
nd, 11:15.09) and
Adam Thron (3
rd, 11:33.57) came in behind Cancino and seniors
Brendan Mackey-Wood (2
nd, 2:06.11) and
Conor Hassard (2
nd, 2:08.03) took second and third behind Schaffer in the 200 IM. Sophomore
Chris Laite took second in the 100 free with a time of 1:53.78, senior
Sean Riddle finished second in the 100 back in a time of 57.11, Mackey-Wood took second in the 500 free (5:00.77) and Cancino finished third in 5:13.34.
Albright returns to the pool on Saturday, Feb. 2 with a tri-meet against Messiah and Misericordia that will be hosted by the Falcons beginning at 1 p.m.
