GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Albright men's and women's swimming teams both fell to the Knights of Arcadia on Saturday afternoon. The men's team was edged by a score of 139.5-122.5 and the women's team dropped a 172.5-88.5 decision.
The men's team captured victories in four of 14 events and tied for the top spot in one event. The Lions were led by senior
Maliq Williams, who picked up a win in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:04.26. Williams also tied for first in the 100 butterfly with Arcadia's Tristan Highet in 54.77. The 400 free relay team of Williams, senior
Teag Culver, junior
Harrison Hunsberger, and senior
Will Griffith touched the wall first in a time of 3:22.34.
Albright swept the top three spots in the 1000 freestyle led by Hunsberger in 10:17.51. Culver finished second in a 10:28.21 and senior
Nicholas Cancino took the third spot in a 10:41.50. The Lions swept the other distance event, the 500 freestyle, as Culver earned the win in a time of 5:00.61. Hunsberger followed in 5:04.26 and
Will Griffith took third for the Lions in 5:16.89.
The Albright women's swimming team won five of 14 events on the day, led by junior
Juli Hyatt with three wins for the Lions.
Hyatt picked up victories in both breaststroke events, swimming the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.56 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:37.70. Hyatt also helped the 400 freestyle relay to a win alongside teammates
Megan Misurelli,
Alaina Ricci, and
Sammy Murphy in a 3:55.62.
In addition to the relay win, sophomore Ricci and first-year Misurelli picked up individual wins for the Lions. Ricci captured the 100 backstroke in 1:05.72 and Misurelli won the 500 freestyle in 5:37.30.
The Albright men's and women's swimming teams will travel to Cabrini University on Saturday, Nov. 9 for a 1 p.m. meet.
