WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Albright men's and women's swimming teams wrapped a weekend of racing at the Diamond City Invitational with an overall first-place win from the men's team after Sunday's session.
The men's team scored a total of 1217.5 points to take home the team title and the women finished the weekend in seventh place after earning 610 points.

Maliq Williams, senior
Nicholas Cancino, senior
Will Griffith, and junior
Chris Laite highlighted day two of the Diamond City Invitational with a first place finish in the time of 3:19.66.
Will Griffith earned an individual third place in the 100 free in 49.47 and the 200 backstroke saw a 10
th place finish from Cancino in 2:11.83. Two Lions finished in the top five of the 200 breaststroke as junior
Corey Hausler took third in 2:21.57 and Laite followed in fourth with a time of 2:28.08. Senior
Anthony Spanier clocked a time of 2:11.14 to earn a sixth place finish in the 200 butterfly.
To conclude the meet for the men, four Lions finished in the top ten of the 1650 freestyle, led by junior
Harrison Hunsberger in second place with a time of 17:11.27. Senior
Teag Culver followed closely behind for third place in 17:29.97. Classmate
Maliq Williams came in eighth in 18:28.82 and senior
Cameron Hilliard took 10
th with a time of 18:48.51.
The Albright women's swimming team was led by sophomore
Alaina Ricci who finished second in the 200 backstroke after clocking a time of 2:18.77. The 400 freestyle relay team of Ricci, junior
Maggie Jones, first-year
Megan Misurelli, and senior
Sammy Murphy earned a sixth place finish with a time of 3:55.93. Murphy grabbed ninth individually in the 100 freestyle in 58.84 and sophomore
Brooke Schlott added a 10
th place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:33.06. The women's team ended the meet with senior
Faith Guzzo finishing the 1650 freestyle in 20:59.67 for an 11
th place finish.
Both the men's and women's swimming teams will return to action for a 2 p.m. meet at Hood College on Jan. 4.
