Terrell Ties Program Record in 81-50 Win Against Hood

READING, Pa. – Sophomore Dejah Terrell tied the Albright women's basketball single-game rebound record after pulling down 26 rebounds in an 81-50 conference victory against Hood on Saturday afternoon.

Terrell ties the program record formerly set by Lauren Keffer who also posted 26 rebounds in a 1978 game against Juniata.

The Albright Lions remain undefeated on the season with a 10-0 record, the longest winning streak to start the season since 11 wins kicked off the 2015-16 season.  Hood falls to 4-5 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.

Posting a double-double and two career highs, Terrell's 26 rebounds paired with 27 points led the Lions in the victory.  Classmate Maggie O'Hare followed with 14 points on 4-of-8 from the floor, 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-4 from the line.  With 10 points in the victory, sophomore Gabby Boggs also registered eight rebounds.

The Blazers took the lead initially after the Lions missed three layups following tip-off, however, two three-pointers from Terrell put Albright back in the game.  After shooting 42% from the floor in the first quarter, Hood held a 17-16 lead entering the second.

Both Hood and Albright scored 14 points apiece in the second quarter and the Blazers held 40% in shooting for a 31-30 lead at the half.

A layup by Terrell 14 seconds into the second half sparked a 10-0 run to capture the lead for the Lions that the Blazers could not make up.  Albright's defense held Hood to just nine points in the third quarter and the Lions scored 26 points, shooting 50%.  Senior Hailey Dayton hit a three-pointer with one second left in the third quarter and the Lions carried the momentum into the fourth, outscoring Hood 25-10 for the 81-50 final score.  Albright trailed by one point at the half and came back to win by 31.

Senior Mia Savoy led the Blazers offensively, recording 17 points and adding seven rebounds, while sophomore Morgan Anderson posted a double-double after pulling down 13 rebounds and scoring 12 points.

The Lions shot 39% (25-of-63) from the floor, 35% (7-of-20) from beyond the arc, and 77% from the free throw line, while the Blazers went 22-of-72 (30%) from the floor, 5-of-17 (29%) from three, and 1-of-7 (14%) from the line.  Led by Terrell, Albright outrebounded Hood 57-38.

No. 23 Albright women's basketball will travel to Moravian on Monday, Dec. 16 for a 1 p.m. non-conference matchup.
