READING, Pa. – The No. 18 Albright women's basketball team remains undefeated with the best start to a season in school history after defeating King's 82-65 at the Bollman Center on Thursday afternoon.
Led by head coach
Janice Luck, the Lions improve to 12-0 to match their number of wins from the 2018-2019 season, while the Monarchs fall to 5-3. Previously, the Lions' best start came from 11 wins to kick off the 2015-16 season in which the Lions were ranked for the first time in school history and capped the year off with a trip to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Dejah Terrell picks up a double-double on a career-high 28 points and 16 rebounds while adding three blocks and four assists. Classmate
Gabby Boggs scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double and led the Lions with four blocks in the victory. Off the bench, sophomore
Maggie O'Hare scored 18 points behind shooting 7-of-10 from the floor.
Just after tip-off, the Lions started on a 7-0 run, which the Monarchs responded to with their own 7-0 run to tie the game at the 6:13-mark. A good jumper from senior
Hailey Dayton reclaimed the lead for the Lions, which increased to as much as eight points in the first after a three from O'Hare. The Lions were up by three going into the second quarter, which began with a three-pointer from Terrell. Going into the locker room, the Lions were up by seven points for a 40-33 lead.
A strong third quarter from Albright secured the win behind shooting 58.8% and allowing just 13 points from the Monarchs who shot 17.7% in the quarter. A Lions 10-3 run increased the lead to 19 points after a final layup from sophomore
Abby Gaffney and Albright led 65-46 going into the last 10 minutes. The Lions scored 19 points to the Monarchs' 17 in the fourth quarter to hold the win for a final score of 82-65.
Samantha Rajza paced the scoring for the Monarchs with 21 points while Mackenzie Yori and Rebecca Prociak each added 13 points. Emily Morano notched a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Albright shot an impressive 52.3 percent (34-of-65) overall on 30 percent (6-of-20) from three and 61.5 percent (8-13) from the line. The Lions tallied 17 fast break points and 11 points off turnovers. King's went 22-of-71 (31.0%) on the day from 9-of-22 (40.9%) beyond the arc and 12-of-16 (75.0%) from the free throw line.
The Lions will return to action after two weeks off on Saturday, Jan. 4 to host a 1 p.m. conference game against Stevenson.
