CLERMONT, Fla. – The Albright Lions softball team (4-4) rallied to top Farmingdale State (0-6) and split a pair of games for the second consecutive day on Monday morning at The Spring Games in Florida.

Albright notched three in the top of the sixth to beat Farmingdale State 8-5 and dropped a 9-2 decision to Macalester (5-5) in the team's second game of the day.

Game One
Camille Sears' go-ahead RBI single in the top of the sixth gave Albright the lead for good in the 8-5 victory over Farmingdale State.

Junior Brooke Yerger led off the sixth with a single, advanced to second on a sac bunt and scored on Sears' RBI single to break the five-all tie. Senior Stephanie Pomante followed Sears with a walk and sophomore Kaitlyn Chell cleared with a two-run double to provide a pair of insurance runs.

Sears (1-2) earned the win in relief for Albright after giving up four hits to go along with two walks and two strikeouts over four shutout innings. Madeline Smith (0-2) was charged with eight runs (five earned) on 13 hits to go along with a walk and a strikeout in six innings of work and received the loss for Farmingdale State.

Albright had tied the game at five in the fifth as Abigail Lord led off with a double and scored on Sears' RBI single and the tying run scored on an error charged to Rams 3B Julianna Prescia.

The Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after one as Yerger led off with a triple and scored on a sac fly from Kelly Cembrale before consecutive errors put two runners on and Pomante delivered a two-run double. Farmingdale State rallied to take a 5-3 lead with five runs in the fourth including a two-run single from Lexie Collard.

Sophomore Lynsie Grant made the start for Albright and received a no-decision after giving up five runs (four earned) on three hits while walking four and fanning two in 3.0 IP.

Pomante (3-4, 2B, 2 RBI), Sears (2-3, 2 RBI, BB, 2 R) and Yerger (4-4, 3B, 2 R) combined for nine of the team's 13 hits. Yerger is the first Albright player to record four hits in a game since Natalie Carlucci accomplished the feat on April 5, 2014 versus Hood.

Macalester quickly answered with four more in the bottom half of the frame including a two-run single from Kennedy Kechely.
