LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Albright Lions baseball team (10-18) came from behind and took the lead for good with a three-run seventh en route to a 14-10 victory over the Cairn Highlanders (13-14) on Tuesday afternoon in Langhorne.
Senior
Jesse Fikslin drew a leadoff walk, stole second, advanced to third on a single and scored when freshman
Nick Sklenarik reached on an RBI fielder's choice to give the Lions a 10-9 lead. Junior
Logan Pennypacker followed with a single to load the bases before
Logan Adams drew a walk to bring in a run and junior
Brandon Daubert plated a run via a sac fly.
Bryan Stimpson (0-2) gave up three runs on two hits to go along with two walks and was dealt the loss for the Highlanders.
Sophomore lefty
Kyle Smith (2-0) gave up two hits while walking one over 1 2/3 IP to earn the win for the Lions. Freshman
Dan Stofko tossed two shutout innings of relief to notch his first save of the year.
Pennypacker led off the game with a walk, stole second, stole third and scored on a throwing error charged to Cairn catcher Alejandro Fernandez to give the Lions an early 1-0 lead. However, the Highlanders answered with five runs in the bottom of the first including a three-run shot from Michael Sorowice. The Lions got solo runs in the third and fourth as Adams plated a run with a sac fly and Sklenarik delivered an RBI single to make it a 6-3 game for the time being. Freshman
Alex Stump's two-run double in the top of the fifth made it a one-run game, but Cairn responded with three in the home half of the inning to take a 9-5 lead.
A pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases with one out to get things started for the Lions in a four-run sixth inning which tied the game at nine apiece. Adams plated a run via an RBI single, Daubert came through with a sac fly, a run scored on a wild pitch and an error charged to Cairn reliever Mathew Fink allowed Adams to scamper home with the tying run.
Freshman
Cameron Rodgers got the start for Albright and received a no-decision after giving up six runs on seven hits while walking one in 2 2/3 IP. Matthew Meyers allowed an unearned run on a hit and walked two in two innings of work for the Highlanders.

Albright returns home to host Hood in the opener of a three-game set on Thursday, April 18. First pitch from Kelchner Field is set for 3:30 p.m.
