OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Albright men's basketball team was unable to overcome a cold-shooting first half as they fell 77-70 to Stevenson on the road Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth play.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 11-9 overall and 6-5 in MAC Commonwealth play. Meanwhile, the Mustangs snapped their 10-game losing streak as they improved to 6-15 overall and 3-9 in conference play.

Samuel Majekodunmi led all scorers on the floor with 24 points in addition to grabbing seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Classmate
Isaiah Harris posted 11 points and grabbed five rebounds, while sophomore
Corey Simmons matched him with 11 points off the bench behind going 4-of-7 from the field.
The Lions started out ice cold from the field as they missed their first 15 field goal attempts of the game. Albright did not hit a field goal until the 8:45-mark of the first half on a Harris layup. Stevenson took advantage by scoring the first 11 points of the game before the Lions got on the board with a pair of free throws from Simmons. The Mustangs eventually extended its lead out to 22-3 before Harris made his layup to snap the Lions 11:15 drought without a field goal. Albright began warming up from the field as they used a 9-2 run to cut the Stevenson lead down to 24-12 at the 5:10-mark of the first half. Down 29-15 at the 4:10-mark of the first half, Albright took momentum into halftime with a 10-3 run, cutting the Mustang lead down to 32-25.
Unlike the first half, the Lions opened the final 20 minutes with two baskets to make it a five-point game at 34-29 with 18:25 left in regulation. However, the Mustangs responded with an 8-2 run to take a 42-31 lead at the 16:25-mark of the second half. Albright worked the Stevenson lead down to six points on two different occasions over the next two minutes, but each time the Mustangs had an answer as they went up 52-41 at the 13:38-mark of the second half. Stevenson worked its lead out to 15 points at 61-46 with 10:23 left in regulation, and maintained at least a double-digit lead until the 6:05-mark. Albright made a late game charge as they used a 15-3 run to make it a three-point game at 68-65 with 3:08 left in regulation. Stevenson used four-straight free throws to go up 72-65 with exactly two minutes left in regulation, but five-straight points from Majekodunmi cut the lead down to 72-70 at the 1:15-mark. Unfortunately for the Lions, Stevenson held them scoreless the rest of the way along with scoring the last five points in the game.
The Lions shot 36.8 percent (26-of-68) from the field, and just 4-of-20 (20%) from three-point range. Albright went 16-of-24 (66.7%) at the free throw line, and held a slight 40-39 rebounding advantage. The Lions also got 22 points from its bench. Meanwhile, the Mustangs shot 47.1 percent (24-of-51) from the field after shooting 53.8 percent in the second half. Stevenson went 7-of-17 (42.1%) from beyond the arc and 22-of-29 (75.9%) from the free throw line.
Norman Hughes led the Mustangs with 20 points and four assists, while Jaylin Johnson posted 17 points and six rebounds. Mark Terrell added 14 points behind going 5-of-8 from the field, and grabbed five rebounds.
Albright will return to action on Saturday, February 8
th as they will host Lebanon Valley at 1 p.m.
