ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Albright Lions women's lacrosse team suffered a 15-11 setback to Lebanon Valley on Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth action.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in MAC Commonwealth play, while the Dutchmen improve to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Sophomore Chloe Fornoff opened the game with the first goal at the 26:49-mark to give the Lions the early 1-0 lead. The Dutchmen responded quickly with a goal just 45 seconds later, starting a six-goal run to put them up 6-1 with 17:39 left in the first half.  The Lions battled back with a big scoring run of their own to tie the game at six with 2:33 remaining in the first half. First-year Brianna Kung started the run with a free position shot goal at the 14:33-mark, and was followed by China just under a minute later following a draw control win. China struck again at the 8:37-mark to cut the deficit down to 6-4 before junior Taylor Filmer made it a 6-5 game at the 4:30-mark following a Dutchmen failed clear. First-year Katelyn Patrick capped the run with a goal at the 2:33-mark. However, the Dutchmen took the lead into halftime after tallying a goal with 1:12 left in the first half after a failed Lions clear.

Fornoff, again, scored the first goal of the half to tie the game at 7-7 with 29:13 left in the game. China followed by registering her third goal of the game to give the Lions their first lead of game at 8-7, with 28:18 left in the second half. The two teams would trade goals as Filmer registered her second goal to give the Lions the lead back at 9-8 with 24:52 left in the half. Unfortunately for the Lions, the Dutchmen countered with six unanswered goals to take command of the game at 14-9 with 17:25 left in the second half. Patrick snapped the run with her second goal of the game at the 16:47-mark, and junior Ashleigh Tortorice tallied the final goal of the game for the Lions with just over four minutes left in regulation.

Each team registered 30 total shots on the night, with the Dutchmen holding a slight 24-22 edge in shots on goal. Draw controls were also split at 14-14 for both teams, and the Dutchmen held a 16-9 advantage for ground balls.
