READING, Pa. – The Albright College men's and women's swimming team opened its 2021 season on Saturday as they competed in the MAC Virtual Relay Meet. After all the results were compiled from the schools around the conference, the men's team tied for second overall out of 11 teams with 188 points while the women's team placed seventh out of 11 teams with 110 points. The two teams combined for 298 points to place fifth overall.
The men's team was highlighted by a first place in the 3x166 yard freestyle 3x500 FTL relay team from first-year
Devin Metzger, junior
Joseph Guiliano, and senior
Harrison Hunsberger who posted a time of 5:37.37.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Metzger, Guiliano, Laite, and Hunsberger finished second with a time of 1:33.83. Hunsberger, Sophomore Matt Czubachowski, first-year
Anthony Laite, Metzger, and Hunsberger took third in the Men 500 freestyle relay (50-100-150-200) after a time of 4:34.29.

Corey Hausler placed fourth in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.35. The 3x50 yard butterfly relay team of Metzger, Hunsberger, and senior
Kyle Morken placed fifth with a time of 1:17.18. Laite, Guiliano, and Czubachowski took fourth in the 3x50 backstroke relay with a time of 1:22.49.

Nicholas Dolan, and sophomore
Drew MacDonald placed fifth in the 3x50 Breaststroke relay with a time of 1:30.51. Hausler, MacDonald, Morken, and Dolan finished fourth in the 400 yard Medley 4x100 IM Relay with a time of 4:07.64.
On the women's side, the 3x166 Yard Freestyle 3x500 FTL Relay Team of first-year Laurel Gingrich, junior Alaina Ricci, and senior Rachel Nye highlighted the day by placing second with a time of 6:28.78.
Gingrich, first-year Morgan Stuhltrager, and Ricci finished fourth in the 3x50 yard butterfly relay with a time of 1:27.57. The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Stuhltrager, sophomore Megan Misurelli, Gingrich, and Ricci finished fourth with a time of 1:48.26.
Misurelli, Stuhltrager, senior Amantle Mogara, and Nye finished fifth in the 400 yard medley 4x100 IM relay with a time of 4:48.21. The 200 yard medley relay team of Ricci, Stuhltrager, Gingrich, and Misurelli took eighth with a time of 2:08.26. The 500 Yard Freestyle (50-100-150-200) relay team of Mogara, Nye, Ricci, and Misurelli finished eighth with a time of 5:27.81.
In the mixed gender 200 yard medley relay, Guiliano, Hausler, Stuhltrager, and Gingrich finished third with a time of 1:51.70
The swimming teams will return to action on Saturday, March 13
th as they will compete in the MAC Virtual Pentathlon starting at 9:30 a.m.
