The Aggies broke the run by scoring their first goal of the game at the 9:40-mark following a long possession. Delaware Valley cut the lead to 3-2 at the 5:21-mark of the first quarter before junior Alex McKendry responded just over three minutes later at the 2:13-mark to put the Lions up 4-2. Junior Jacob Cunningham extended the Lion advantage to 5-2 on the first possession of the second quarter with his first goal of the game. The Aggies made it a 5-3 game at the 9:43-mark of the second quarter, and followed with a goal following a Lions turnover at the 7:28-mark to bring the deficit down to 5-4. Delaware Valley tied the game for the first time to open the third quarter at the 12:58-mark before Bodwell responded just 48 seconds later with his third goal of the game to put the Lions up 7-6. McKendry extended Albright's lead to 8-6 at the 9:31-mark following an Aggies turnover, but the lead quickly evaporated as Delaware Valley tied the game at eight with back-to-back goals. Albright was able to keep the game tied headed into the fourth quarter as they withstood a nine-shot barrage from the Aggies in the final two minutes. Bodwell put the Lions back on top at 9-8 at the 11:57-mark of the fourth quarter on a man-up opportunity. Albright seemed to gain full control of the game as Genneken and senior Alex Miller scored goals within 21 seconds of each other to put the Lions up 11-8 with 5:12 left in regulation. However, the Aggies shocked the Lions with three-straight goals in the span of 32 seconds to tie the game at 11. Albright had one last chance at winning the game in the final seconds of regulation, but a penalty with four seconds left pushed the game into overtime.
