READING, Pa. – The Albright women's soccer game against Penn State Berks concluded with a scoreless tie after double overtime Saturday evening at Shirk Stadium.
With the draw, Albright's record is now 2-2-1 overall while Penn State Berks is 0-2-2.
It was a very competitive first half as both defenses did their part shut down the opposing offenses. Berks put the pressure on early and fired off back to back shots in the sixth and seventh minutes. Neither team could find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of action as the game remained scoreless at the half.
Both teams struggled to get shots on goal in the second half. The Lions closest opportunity at scoring was in the 78
th minute when senior
Autumn Bieber had a fast break possession, but her shot ricocheted off the left post and away from the net. Neither team saw another opportunity at the net which sent the game into overtime.

McKenna LeVan put on a major performance in both overtime sessions by completing four big saves to keep the Lions alive. Senior
Diza Hasanaj got an opportunity at the net in the 99
th minute but Berks goalkeeper Savannah McNeal kept the game going with a crucial save. The game remained scoreless when the final buzzer went off at the 110
th minute which solidified the draw between the two teams.
Berks held a 15-7 shot advantage over Albright and a 9-4 advantage of shots on goal. LeVan made nine big saves in 110 minutes of play for the Lions. McNeal completed four saves in 110 minutes of play for the Nittany Lions.
The Lions will return to Shirk Stadium Wednesday to take on Penn State Harrisburg at 4 p.m.
