WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Albright men's tennis team had six athletes compete in the 2021 MAC Individual Championship Tournament this weekend.
In singles play, senior
Arpit Gainder competed out of the Lions No. 1 spot and fell 4-0, 4-0 to Vivek Harinaryan of Stevens. First-year
Kobe Serpa was defeated 4-0, 4-0 by Evan Stehman of York in the No. 2 spot, while junior
Mike Vogt was downed in the No. 3 spot by Sebastian Wroe of Stevens by a score of 4-0, 4-0. First-year Clay Lewandwoski fell 4-2,4-0 to Francis Tamesis in the No. 4 spot, and senior
Ron Andanje dropped a close 4-0, 4-3 (7-5) decision to Matthew Nagy of Arcadia. Junior
Nick Bush rounded out the Lions in the No. 6 spot and was defeated 4-1, 4-0 by Rodneil Senson of Wilkes.
In doubles play, the duo of Gainder and Serpa fell 8-0 to Augie Citrone and Thomas Blomquist of DeSales in the No. 1 spot. The No. 2 spot duo of Vogt and Lewandowski dropped an 8-0 decision to Aashi Kulakarni and Olaf Persson of Stevens, while the No. 3 duo of Andanje and Bush were defeated by Niko Bifsas and JJ Bonta of Stevenson, 8-0
The Lions will open their fall dual match season on Wednesday, September 22
nd as they will host Lancaster Bible at 3:30 p.m.
