READING, Pa. – The Albright Lions women's tennis team opened their dual match play with a 8-0 sweep of Juniata on Saturday afternoon at the Albright Tennis Courts.
With the win, the Lions open their 2021 season 1-0 as they began the non-conference portion of their schedule. It was the first dual match win for the Lions since they defeated Penn State Abington in September 2016. Meanwhile, the Eagles of the Landmark Conference fall to 0-3 overall.

Shelby Woodard defeated Juniata's Kady Lohr and Marilyn Ogof 8-1. Junior
Libby Harford and senior
Lauren China earned an 8-3 win over Mia Kazakavage and Courtney Eller in No. 2 doubles action. Seniors
Maddie Taylor and
Marisa Cocca completed the doubles sweep with an 8-0 win over Olivia Day and Salem Tadesse in the number three spot.
Pancu opened the Lions singles matches up with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the number one spot over Lohr. Harford defeated Ogof 6-4, 2-6 (10-8) at the number two spot, while Woodard took down Kazakavage 6-1, 6-2 in the three spot. Taylor defeated Eller in the number four spot by scores of 6-4, 6-0, and China swept Day 6-0, 6-0 in the five spot. Cocca completed the team sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Tadesse in the number six spot
Albright is back in action on Tuesday, September 28th as they will travel to take on Trinity (DC) at 3 p.m.
