CHESTER, Pa. - The Albright volleyball team (10-13, 0-8 MAC Commonwealth) dropped a road match to Widener (13-13, 5-3 MAC Commonwealth) on Thursday night 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-19). Tonight's match marks the conclusion of the 2022 women's volleyball season.
The Widener Pride opened the match jumping out to a 9-5 lead. The hosts capitalized on the opening run and won the opening set.
Set number two played similarly to the first seeing Widener jump out to an early lead. The Pride continued their strong play and took control of the match.
Albright would not go down without a fight. In the third set the Lions reversed the script and jumped out to a 5-2 lead. Albright was the first to 19 points however Widener proved to be too tough in the end taking the third set to win the match.
Rachel Etim looked to spark the Lion attack tallying seven kills. Etim also recorded eight digs and one block.
Shelby Cheuvront had 16 digs and Kyra Lycett had eight digs and two service aces for the Lions.
