OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Playing on the road for the first time in a little over a week The Albright women's soccer team (2-8-3, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) took care of business against Stevenson (1-9-2, 0-2-1) winning the game 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The win is the first over Stevenson since the 2019 season and the first of conference play this season.
The first half of play saw both teams settling in trying to figure out their opponent. After some back and forth throughout the half, the game remained scoreless through the first 45 minutes of play.
In the first half Albirght held the shot advantage and corner kick battle over Stevenson. The Lions had five shots and three corners while the Mustangs had three shots and no corners.
Lindsey Williamson broke the scoreless match roughly 11 minutes into second half play. The Senior beat the keeper putting the ball into the lower left portion of the net to put the Lions on top 1-0. The goal was the first of Williamson's season.
After the goal the Albright defense stood tall in the way of the Stevenson attack. Albright goalkeeper Alexis Solt turned away three shots from Stevenson to preserve the 1-0 margin of victory. In all, Solt was credited with four saves in the game.
Emily Serpico finished with a game high three shots. Alexis Baez and Mackenzie Sowers were also credited with a shot on goal for Albright.

The women's soccer team will remain on the road this week traveling to nearby Alvernia. The Lions will face Alvernia on Wednesday, October 12. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
