Men’s Basketball Falls to Eastern Mennonite

The Albright men’s basketball team capped off the Carlyle Whitelow Invitational Saturday afternoon against Eastern Mennonite University. EMU narrowly won the game, 84-80.

BRIDGEWATER, Va - The Albright men's basketball team (1-2, 0-0 MAC Commonwealth) were in action this afternoon against Eastern Mennonite (1-1) at the Carlyle Whitelow Invitational. The game was close throughout the full 40 minutes with Eastern Mennonite narrowly escaping with the win 84-40.

Albright was down as many as 11 points in the first half but did not go away. The Lions battled all the way back cutting their deficit down to only two points at halftime, 44-42.

Zyon Grant had the hot hand in the first half scoring 14 points pacing the Lions offensively.

With 10 and change left to play Dylan McGinley buried a three pointer to tie the game at 66-66. Two minutes later a Sean Miller three pointer gave the Lions a five point lead.

EMU managed to claw their way back into the game using a 12-5 run to close the game and escape with a victory.

Grant finished with 20 points to lead Albright offensively. Chris Kouemi had a double-double scoring 10 points and collecting 11 rebounds. Eric Chamberlain was the other Lion in double figures with 10. Chamberlain has now scored at least 11 points in every game to start the season.  


UP NEXT:
After their first three games on the road Albright returns home on Friday, November 18 against Franklin & Marshall for their home opener. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
