RADNOR, PA. - The Albright women's basketball team (3-3) cruised to a win over Cabrini University (2-3) in the final game before the Thanksgiving break. The game tonight for the Lions marked their third game in four days and the team showed no signs of fatigue winning the game 62-49.
Albright started the game down 6-3 but quickly rebounded to erase the Cabrini lead. Amina Rauf converted a first quarter layup giving the Lions a 9-8 lead, a lead the Lions would hold for the entire rest of the game.
The Lions stretched their lead to 16-10 at the end of the first and improved on their lead in the second quarter taking a 30-23 lead into halftime.
Rauf poured in nine first half points to lead Albright. Gabby Boggs was her usual self scoring eight points and pulling down seven rebounds through the first 20 minutes.
A big third quarter from Albright widened their lead over Cabrini. The Lions outscored the hosts 20-8 in the quarter heading ino the final 10 minutes leading by 19.
The big third quarter was the key to Albright's victory tonight giving Cabrini no hope of making a comeback attempt. Tonights 62-49 win marks the first road win of the 2022-23 season for Albright.
Boggs scored 19 points and hauled in 14 rebounds, both of which were good for a game high. Mackenzie Dover was also in double figures scoring 15 points and recording 12 rebounds.
Rauf was the third Lion in double figures tonight collecting 16 points and recording two steals.

The Albright women's basketball team will break for Thanksgiving and will next play against Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday, November 30. The game is slated for an 8 p.m. start.
