Strong First Half Leads Albright Past Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Albright men's basketball team (3-3, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) scored 55 points in the first half on their way to a 91-73 victory on the road over Lebanon Valley (2-4, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth). Tonight's game marked the first MAC Commonwealth game of the season and the Lions are starting out in the win column.

It was a back and forth opening five minutes of play with Albright in front by two, 12-10. The two point lead would grow to 12 with eight minutes left and then by 24 with under five minutes to go in the first half. The Lions led 55-31 at the half due in large part to 56.3% shooting from the field.

Zyon Grant and Jeremiah Stanton led the way for the Lions each scoring 13 points in the first 20 minutes. Grant was perfect from the field including going 3-3 from behind the three point line. Stanton made two threes of his own and was perfect from the free throw line draining all five of his attempts.

The Lions stretched their lead to 27 points halfway through the second half. The nearly thirty point advantage is the largest in a game this season for Albright. The strong shooting continued up and down the lineup maintaining a double digit lead throughout the entire second half.

Albright held LVC to under 40% from the field during the entire game. LVC was forced into 22 turnovers by Albright leading to 23 points off turnovers for Albright.

The strong shooting and stingy defense led the Lions to a 91-73 victory Wednesday night.
