Women’s Basketball Races by Hood College For Third Straight Win

The Albright women’s basketball team was in action on Saturday afternoon and earned their third straight win by defeating Hood College, 60-47.

READING, PA. - The Albright women's basketball team (5-3, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) was in action on Saturday afternoon and defeated Hood College (2-5, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) 60-47 on their way to a third straight victory.

Albright's win today marks the 19th straight over Hood College.

It was a close game throughout the first quarter. Each team was trying to find their footing in the early moments of the game with neither of the teams holding a big lead.

The Lions found some rhythm in the second quarter finding themselves up nine just two minutes into the quarter. After the nine point advantage Hood College got themselves back into the game with driving layups bringing the halftime score to 24-19 in favor of Albright.

In the third quarter Hood outscored Albright 16-13 only finding themselves down two with 10 minutes left to go.

The fourth quarter was all Albright and mainly from the 4:15 mark to just 2:48 left on the clock. In that timeframe the Lions went on a 10-0 run to put the game away and gave the Blazers no chance at a comeback.

In the end Albright was up by as many as 16 in the closing seconds of the game and would end up winning comfortably by a final score of 60-47.

The Albright women's basketball team will remain home for their next game against Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday evening. The non-conference clash will tip off at 7 p.m.
