READING, Pa. – The Albright women's tennis team claimed their third-straight shutout victory with a 9-0 win over Saint Elizabeth at the Albright college Tennis Courts on Saturday.
With the win, the Lions improve to 6-1 overall. Meanwhile the Eagles fall to 0-2.
Albright took a 3-0 lead after allowing only one single point in their doubles matches.
Alex Pancu and
Shelby Woodard claimed an 8-0 victory in the first double match.
Libby Harford and
Macie Littleton followed suit and took an 8-0 victory in the second doubles match.
Olivia Frey and
Megan Misurelli rounded out the Lions doubles matches with an 8-1 victory in the final match.
The Lions continued to dominate in their singles matches. Pancu opened up the matches with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 1 spot. Woodard followed in the No. 2 spot with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Harford claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No.3 spot while
Angelina Gaglio earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 4 spot. Littleton and Frey rounded out the singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.
The Lions will return to action on Thursday as they host Trinity (DC) at the Albright College Tennis Courts at 3 p.m.
