READING, Pa. – The Albright women's tennis team picked up their fourth-straight shutout win with a commanding 9-0 victory over Trinity (DC) inside the Life Sports Center on Thursday.
With the win, the Lions improve to 7-1 overall. Meanwhile, the Tigers drop to 0-3.
Albright jumped out with an early 3-0 lead after claiming all three doubles matches and only allowing for one single point. The duo of
Alex Pancu and
Shelby Woodard earned their second-straight shutout doubles win with an 8-0 victory in the first doubles match.
Libby Harford and
Macie Littleton followed with an 8-0 win in the second doubles match while
Angelina Gaglio and
Olivia Frey rounded out the doubles matches with an 8-1 victory.
Pancu tallied her eighth singles win of the season with a commanding 8-0 victory in the No. 1 spot. Woodard and Harford followed suit, each with an 8-0 victory in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Gaglio earned an 8-1 win in the No. 4 spot while Littleton posted an 8-0 win in the No. 5 spot. Frey closed out the singles action with an 8-0 win in the No. 6 spot.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they open up MAC Commonwealth action at Messiah.
