READING, Pa. – The Albright women's tennis team claimed a commanding 9-0 win over Clarks Summit to open up their spring schedule at the Albright Tennis Courts on Saturday.
With the win, the Lions advance to 4-1 overall, meanwhile, the Defenders fall to 0-2.
Alex Pancu and
Shelby Woodard opened up the doubles with an 8-0 win.
Libby Harford and
Macie Littleton followed in the second doubles with an 8-0 victory as well while
Angelina Gaglio and
Olivia Frey combined for an 8-1 win to sweep the Defenders in doubles 3-0.
Albright continued to dominate as Pancu opened the singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the number one spot. Woodard and Hardford followed suit in the second and third spots, respectively, as they each claimed 6-0, 6-0 wins as well. Gaglio earned a 6-1, 6-1 win in the fourth spot while Littleton followed in the fifth spot with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Frey rounded out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the sixth spot.
Albright will return to action on Saturday, March 12
th at 1 p.m. as they travel to Penn State Abington.
