ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team dropped a MAC Commonwealth matchup at Lebanon Valley 16-10 on Saturday.
With the loss, the Lions drop to 0-2 in conference and 2-8 overall. Meanwhile, the Dutchmen improve to 2-0 in MAC Commonwealth action and 6-5 overall.

Abigail Hai posted a career-high five goals to pace the Lions offense. Senior
Lauren China tallied four points on two goals and two assists while sophomore
Katelyn Patrick added three points behind one goal and two assists. Sophomore
Kyra Lycett grabbed a game-high eight draw controls.
Albright came out of the gates firing away as sophomore
Kayte Moist notched the opening goal of the game just 24 seconds into action. Hai followed with her first goal of the game just a minute later behind a feed from Moist to give the Lions an early 2-0 lead. China capped off Albright's opening run with an assist from Patrick to extend their lead to three. Lebanon Valley snapped the run with a goal at the 12:03-mark to get on the board. Patrick answered with a free-position goal at the 7:14-mark bringing the score to 4-1. The two teams traded goals but the Dutchmen closed out the opening frame with a goal in the final minute to cut their deficit to 5-3.
Lebanon Valley continued to chip away at their deficit with a goal at the 11:57-mark of the second frame to get within one. Hai kept the Lions in front with an unassisted goal to put their lead at 6-4. Lebanon Valley controlled the pace for the remainder of the half as they netted six unanswered goals to grasp a 10-6 lead entering the break.
The Dutchmen kept their foot on the gas in the third frame, posting four more unanswered goals to take a commanding 14-6 lead. Lebanon Valley goalkeeper Julia Abendschoen stood tall in net to keep the Lions scoreless in the third with six saves.
Lebanon Valley capped off their run with the opening goal of the fourth to grasp their largest lead of the game at nine. Albright finally snapped the run with a goal from Hai behind a feed from China. The Dutchmen tallied their last goal of the game at the 10:26-mark to take their lead back to nine. The Lions attempted to chip away at their deficit in the final ten minutes of action scoring three unanswered goals, but their rally came up short as the Dutchmen earned the 16-10 conference victory.
The Dutchmen held a 43-35 shot advantage over the Lions and won the battle for ground balls 8-6. Meanwhile, Albright won the battle inside the draw circle 16-14. First-year goalkeeper
Caelainn Morrison receives the loss for the Lions despite making a career-high 16 saves in the full 60 minutes of action. Abendschoen made 18 saves in net for the Dutchmen to earn the win.
The Lions will return to Shirk Stadium on Wednesday at 4 p.m. as they host York to continue conference action.
