Reading, PA - The Albright Lions beat the Saint Elizabeth Eagles in straight sets, winning 25-9, 25-12, and 25-9. The win improves the Lions record to 3-2 on the season, while the Eagles drop to 0-5.
In a match that was all Lions, the Eagles actually started the first set going up 3-0. But a 20-3 run by the Lions was the story of the first set. At one point the Lions scored seven consecutive points while
Sophie Hampton was serving. They took the first set 25-9.
The second set saw the Lions win 25-12. Every time the Eagles scored a point, the Lions would score a couple in a row, never letting the Eagles into it.
The third set was just like the rest of the match, all Lions. The Lions started this set on a 16-2 run, and comfortably won the set 25-9.
The leaders for the Lions were
Sophie Hampton and
Rachel Etim (9 kills each), Chelby Cheuvront and
Kyra Lycett (5 service aces each),
Paola Mejias (25 assists), and
Kyra Lycett (11 digs).
Up Next - The Lions will head out on the road to take on Bryn Athyn on Tuesday, September 13. That match will start at 7pm.
