Reading, PA - In their season opener, the Albright Lions fought for a 3-0 win over Bryn Athyn. After taing an early lead, ALbright never looked back and secured their first 1-0 start to a season since 2018.
After Bryn Athyn committed a penalty in the box in the eighth minute,
Austin Gross stepped up, and pocketed the ball into the back of the net to give Albright an early lead. Just 12 minutes later, first year
Martin Ramsay doubled the lead with his first collegiate goal. Later in the first half
Luigi Costigliola would be shown a yellow card, followed a few minutes later by a yellow card to
Erick Tacuri.. These yellow cards were just a precursor to the physicality that would take place in the second half.
Early in the second half, Justin Delgado and Mike Carmody were each given yellow cards for Bryn Athyn in seperate incidents. Then with just under nine minutes left, things would hit their tipping point as a large scuffle occurred in the Albright attacking end.
Noah Raimonde and
Curren Shesniak were each given yellow cards, while Ryan Ovecka was given a yellow card for the vistors. Aaron Clark was given a straight red card, giving Albright a 11-10 man advantage the rest of the way. Almost immediately after play resumed, Ramsay would pick up his second goal of the game on a beautiful strike from a distance, hitting the top left corner of the net.

Cooper Walters stopped all six shots he faced for the clean sheet, earning the victory in his first collegiate game.
