Reading, PA - The Albright Lions lost to Eastern University in straight sets on Wednesday, falling 25-7, 25-15, 25-14. The loss drops the Lions to 6-3 overall, and 0-2 in conference play, while the Eagle move to 9-2 and 2-0. The loss snaps a four game winning streak for the Lions.
The Lions were never able to get anything going in the first set as they would fall behind 19-3, before ultimately losing the set 25-7.
Set two saw the Lions get out to an early 9-6 lead, but the Eagles would take the lead using a 6-0 run. After the two teams traded some points back and forth to make it 16-13 Eastern, the Eagles would use a 7-0 run to take a 23-13 lead. They would win the set 25-15.
Set three was similar to the second, as the Lions would grab a 8-7 lead, but could not keep up with the offensive power of the Eagles. The Eagles would go on to win the third and final set by a score of 15-14.
The leaders for the Lions were
Rachel Etim (7 kills),
Paola Mejias (13 Assists), and
Shelby Cheuvront (12 digs). Etim also had three blocks.
