OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Albright College women's basketball team (8-6, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth) was on the road for the first time in the new year and fell to MAC Commonwealth counterpart Stevenson University (5-8, 4-1) by a final score of 64-51.
Senior guard Lindsey Williamson started the game off with a three pointer followed up by a Orianna Edmond layup for an early 5-2 Lion lead. Albright went two for two from deep in the first quarter helping the Lions to a 13-11 lead after one.
Both teams ramped up their efforts defensively in the second quarter seeing neither team shoot above 42% from the floor. Albright looked poised to hold a halftime lead but a late Stevenson three gave the Mustangs a 22-21 lead going into the break.
Albright was strong offensively in the third quarter doubling their offensive output from the second quarter. CJ Apistar nailed a three late in the quarter to keep the Lions within striking distance going into the final 10 minutes.
The fourth quarter went to Stevenson University who found their game offensively and pulled away late from Albright to give the hosts the home victory.
Mackenzie Dover led the way for Albright this afternoon scoring 15 points including two for four from long range. One of the country's top rebounders Gabby Boggs brought down 13 rebounds and added seven points.
Williamson, Boggs and Amina Rauf each had seven points for Albright.
