READING, Pa.- The Albright men's swimming team returned to the pool on Saturday (Oct. 14) officially getting their 2023-24 season underway against Lycoming College.
Brenden Stuhltrager wasted no time making his mark recording a new pool record in the 100-yard Butterfly in his first ever collegiate swim meet.

What a day it was for the first year, Stuhltrager. Competing in his first ever collegiate swim meet this afternoon, Stuhltrager made the most of it setting a new pool record at Lycoming College in the 100-yard butterfly. Stuhltrager raced past the competition to set the new pool record with a time of 52.31.
The previous pool record in the 100-yard butterfly at Lycoming was held by a former Albright swimmer in the form of Bryce Schaffer.
In addition, Stuhltrager won the 50-yard freestyle (22.25) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.03) rounding out a strong day in the pool.
Anthony Laite opened his season in impressive fashion, winning the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard free, Laite posted a time of 1:54.38 beating the second place finisher by over two and half seconds. In the 500-yard freestyle, Laite was even better, turning in an impressive time of 5:10.16. The time was the fastest in the event by fifty seconds.

The men's swimming team will return home to the John Scholl LifeSports Center for their first home meet of the season on Saturday, October 21. The meet against Widener is set for a 1 p.m. start time.
