READING, Pa. – The Albright men's soccer team (8-4-3, 0-3-1) was in action on Wednesday (Oct. 18) evening playing host to cross town rival Alvernia (8-5-1, 4-0 MAC Commonwealth) in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) showdown. The Golden Wolves won tonight's match by a final of 3-0.
Tonight's match was a psychical battle throughout from both sides. The game featured eight total bookings, six yellow cards to Alvernia and two yellow cards to Albright.
The game remained scoreless after 45 minutes of play.
John Villano put together a strong first half totaling two shots putting both of which on frame testing the Alvernia goalkeeper.
It was a scoreless affair until the 65th minute of play when the Golden Wolves got on the board first to take a 1-0 lead.
The Lions looked poised to tie the game just moments later but the play was blown dead due to an unfavorable offside call.
Alvernia tallied two goals late in the match to escape with a 3-0 victory over Albright.
Villano paced the Lions attack taking four shots, putting three of them on frame.

Luigi Costigliola and
Myles Mitchell were each credited with one shot taken for the Lions.
