READING, Pa. – The Albright volleyball team (13-8, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth) returned to their home court on Wednesday (Oct. 18) evening playing host to the York College Spartans (14-7, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) showdown. The Spartans took tonight's match over the Lions 3-0.
The first set was tightly contested throughout with the Spartans just squeaking the by the Lions to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Sophie Hampton and
Elle Haddon both had three kills in the opening set, pacing the Lions offense.
York College (Pa.) carried the first set momentum into the second set to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
The third was once again anyone's set to win but the Spartans used a late rally to their advantage to win the match 3-0.
Hampton led with seven kills in the match leading the Lion offense.
Rachel Etim did a little bit of everything recording at least one kill, dig, assist, block and service ace.
Kyra Lycett was strong defensively for the Lions recording nine digs.

The Albright volleyball team will head to Kings College (Pa.) for a tri-match against King's College (Pa.) and Rutgers-Newark. Albright's will play at 2 p.m. against Rutgers-Newark and at 4 p.m. against King's College (Pa.).
