NEWARK, N.J. - Maggie Williams of the Albright women's soccer team (4-6-1) scored the game winning goal in the 59th minute and McKenna LeVan made 14 saves leading Albright to a 1-0 win over Rutgers-Camden (5-7).
Tonight's game marked the first time the Lions have been on the road since September 13. Previously, Albright enjoyed five straight games at home to close out the month of September.
The first half came and went without a goal scored on either side.
LeVan was her typical self in the first half making two saves to keep the game scoreless. Haley Denuto was credited with a first half shot looking to spark the Lions Attack.
The game remained scoreless until the 59th minute of play when the Lions struck first.
Maggie Williams tallied the Lion goal depositing the ball into the lower left portion of the net giving Albright the 1-0 advantage. For Williams the goal was her second of the season. The goal was assisted by Audrey Solt.
LeVan was unbelievable down the stretch for Albright. After Williams put the Lions on top 1-0, LeVan made eight saves including seven of them in the last 10 minutes of the game.
The game finished as 1-0 Albright victory, picking up their fourth win of the season.
LeVan finished with 14 saves tying a career high. LeVan now has three games this season with 12 or more saves. The clean sheet is the fifth of the season for the Albright goalkeeper.
