Football Set to Host Stevenson In Week Six on Saturday

The Albright football team returns to the field after their bye week and are set to host Stevenson University in Middle Atlantic Conference week six action.

READING, PA. – The Albright football team is set to return to the field at home on Saturday (Oct. 7) afternoon hosting Stevenson University in week six Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action. The MAC clash kicks off at 12 p.m.

Today's meeting is the first time the two schools have met since the 2019 season. Saturday's game marks the first time Stevenson has made a trip to Reading, Pa. since the 2018 season.

Both teams enter Saturday's game coming off their bye week. For Albright Saturdays game is their second straight home game and for Stevenson it is their first game on the road since September 16.

The Lions are coming off a home loss to FDU-Florham 14-6. In the game Albright rushed for a season high 196 yards on the ground. Isaiah Shockley was the lead back going for 152 yards on 21 carries. Shockley averaged 7.2 yards per carry including breaking off a 59-yard run in the game.

Shockley's big game moved him up to third in the MAC Conference for total rushing yards this season. The tailback has 300 total rushing yards averaging 75 yards on the ground per game. Shockley helped the Lions to the 10th most rushing yards in a game this season in the MAC last time out against FDU-Florham.

About Stevenson
Stevenson brings a 3-1 overall record and a 2-1 MAC record into Saturdays game against Albright. The Mustangs topped Widener University 49-7 their last time out and enter the game on Saturday riding a two-game win streak. Stevenson's three wins this season have come over Rowan University, FDU-Florham and Widener.

The lone loss for the Mustangs came at the hands of Lebanon Valley. The game was called with 5:54 left in the fourth quarter due to weather with the Mustangs trailing 45-38.

Stevenson features a dynamic offense that currently ranks second in the MAC for total yards per game at 237.8. The Mustang offense is led by quarterback Nyaire Wilson. Wilson has thrown for 951 yards and five touchdowns. Wilson however is prone to turning over the football throwing six interceptions in four games.

The defense for Stevenson this season has given up 218.0 yards per game and has only produced five turnovers through four games. The Mustangs have done a good job of getting after the quarterback this season registering 13 sacks. Four different players on the defense have recorded at least two sacks this season.
