READING, Pa. - The Albright women's tennis team (4-1) played host to Moavian University (3-2) on Wednesday afternoon and the Lions protected home court winning the match over the Greyhounds 5-4.
Today marked the first match that the two sides have squared off since the 2013 fall season.
The Lions won four singles matches and one doubles to secure their fourth victory in five matches this Fall.
Alex Pancu and
Michelle Timothy led the charge for Albright playing in number one and two singles, respectively. Pancu won 8-4 controlling the match and Timothy took care of her opponent with ease winning 8-2.
Alaina Smith and
Alizabeth Zarnofsky rounded out the Lions singles wins to secure the overall victory for Albright. Smith won her match 8-6 and Zarnofsky doubled up her opponent winning 8-4.
Timothy and
Valeria Sanchez teammed up in the number two doubles match and took care of business with ease winning the match 8-2.
