SCRANTON, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball team (2-2) played in their first true road game of the season on Monday (Nov. 20) evening traveling to the University of Scranton (4-0). The Royals of Scranton won tonight's game over the Lions by a final score of 86-43. The Royals came into the 2023-24 season at No. 6 in all of Division III.
Toady's meeting was the first matchup between the two schools since January of 2010.
The Royals jumped on Albright in the first quarter stretching their lead to 10 points after 10 minutes of play.
Albright battled in the second quarter and closed out the half on a quick 6-3 spurt but found themselves behind in the game 35-19.
Mackenzie Dover paced the Albright offense is the first half with six points. Dover has been Albright's best player on offense this season and tonight was no exception. The junior guard finished tonight's game with 11 points. Dover has now scored at least 11 points in three out of the four games this season.
University of Scranton closed out the game in the second half to win tonight's game over Albright.
Orianna Edmond and
Jacey Petruno each had six points and four rebounds this evening. The duo combined to go a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Petruno added two assists two her overall stat line while setting a new career high in points and rebounds. Edmond will need five rebounds next time out to reach 200 in her Albright career.
Nine different Lions scored at least one point tonight while four of which made at least one three -pointer.

The Lions will be off through this week for the Thanksgiving holiday. Albright will return to the court on Tuesday, November 28 with tip-off set for 7 p.m. against Marymount.
