ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Albright men's basketball team (3-2) squared off against Lebanon Valley College (0-7) on Wednesday evening in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Freedom crossover matchup. Albright won tonight's game 81-70 marking their sixth straight win over the Dutchmen.
With tonight's victory Albright has now won six straight over Lebanon Valley. Additionally, Albright is 9-1 against LVC in their last 10 head to head matchups. Tonight's game does not count as a conference victory for Albright as Lebanon Valley is now members of the MAC Freedom division.
Albright never trailed in tonight's game winning wire to wire over the Dutchmen. The Lions got contributions from up and down the lineup finishing the game with six scorers in double figures. The Lions bench outscored LVC's 27-14 and scored 22 points off turnovers in tonight's road win.
Isaac LaPierre opened the game with a three ball in one of Albright's six first half three pointers. LaPierre drained two threes while
Chris Kouemi,
Eric Chamberlain,
Robert Mangum and
Qadir Mitchell all had a first half three.
Chamberlain paced Albright with 11 first half points helping the Lions to a 39-33 halftime lead.
The second half was controlled by Albright maintaining their lead over LVC. The lead never got under six points in the second half for the Lions playing well on both sides of the floor. Albright's lead climbed to 16 with 6:37 left in the game at 70-54. From there the road team closed out LVC taking tonight's game 81-70.
Chamberlain finished with a game high 17 points while adding six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kouemi went 6-9 from the floor on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.
Mitchell was nearly perfect from the floor going 5-6 with two three's finishing with 12 points.
Hasson Massenburg, Mangum and LaPierre rounded out the Lions in double figures all finishing the game with 11 points.
