YORK, Pa. - The Albright College men's basketball team (7-13, 4-8 MAC Commonwealth) was on the road this evening and dropped a heartbreaker to York College (Pa.) (11-10, 5-7 MAC Commonwealth) in a MAC Commonwealth battle 72-69.
It was a low scoring affair between the two sides tonight as Albright started off the game jumping out to an early lead. The Spartans were able to claw back into the game throughout the first half. Heading into halftime Albright led 29-23 holding York College (Pa.) to 26.5% shooting from the field.
Chris Kouemi led Albright in the first half scoring 10 points and grabbing six rebounds, both good for team high first halves. Zyon Grant had an efficient first half scoring seven points and going two for two from three point range.
The game remained close throughout the entirety of the second half. Down the stretch with under a minute to play the ball seemed to bounce the way of the Spartans allowing the hosts to escape with the 72-69 victory.
Despite the loss Albright featured four different players in double figures. Kouemi and Grant both went for 14, Jordan Guerrero had 13 and Eric Chamberlain chipped in with 10 points of his own.
Robert Mangum did a little bit of everything having nine points, seven rebounds and two assists.
